A national selection of long distance running athletes recently competed in the San Marino international Mountain championships (up/downhill).
In the Senior women’s race (8.55km average incline 16%), Angele Satariano (AS Libertas) managed an excellent 5th position overall, while Francesca Arrigo (Ladies Running Club) was 10th overall.
In the Senior Men’s race (12.44km, 16% average incline), Drew Lang (Athleta Pembroke) wearing the Malta colours for the first time, was 13th Overall and 2nd over 48 while Johann Cassar (B’kara St. Joseph) was 16th overall, 2nd over 34. The team was accompanied by Gerald Grech, chairman of the Malta mountain running sub-committee.
The Maltese athletes were supported by the Perskindol Malta (NM Arrigo) sponsorship.
